Jackbox.tv & The Jackbox Party Pack - Help/FAQ

General Guidelines and Tips

 No separate app is required to play. You simply open your web browser and connect to jackbox.tv DO NOT USE JACKPAD

 Almost any device with a web browser can connect to jackbox.tv  (iOS 6.1 or higher, Android - 4.0 or higher recommended, WP8, Web browsers IE,    Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Silk

* Make sure to have cookies enabled on your browser (cookies will allow you to rejoin the game if you get disconnected)

* Rooted or jail-broken devices are not guaranteed to work

* Android Users - We recommend using Chrome over your default web browser 

* Disable private browsing if you get a blank white screen on jackbox.tv

* Only one user can login per browser (per device)

* We recommend playing YDKJ 2015 multi-player in portrait mode

* Devices that are known NOT to work on  jackbox.tv - PSVITA, Nintendo 3DS, Windows Phone 7, Some native Android browsers

* Nexus 6 users - please use the Firefox browser for Drawful

* If you are running Windows XP, you will not be able to use Internet Explorer as your controller

*Satellite based internet connections will experience slower response time due to the high latency of that particular technology

* Make sure that the following ports are set to open on your firewall and router 80, 443, 843, 38202, 38203

* Disable any ad/pop up blocking software

Q: I connected to jackbox.tv but my device loaded a blank white screen

A: Refresh the page and rejoin the room. If that doesn't work, clear the cache and cookies from your browser and try again

 

Q: I got disconnected from a game I was playing, how do I rejoin the game?

A: If you were playing already and got disconnected, refresh your browser and press play (you may have to re-enter your name and room code). Please note that only Lie Swatter and Word Spud support new players joining mid game. Fibbage XL, YDKJ 2015 and Drawful cannot be joined mid game by new players.

 

Q: I can't join a game, why?

A: Games must be hosted on a console, you cannot go to jackbox.tv and join random games.  Please note that only Lie Swatter and Word Spud support new players joining mid game, Fibbage XL, YDKJ 2015 and Drawful cannot be joined mid game by new players

 

Q: My game is having trouble connecting to jackbox.tv

A: If you have issues connecting, force quit The Jackbox Party Pack using your console controller and check your internet connection. Also make sure to disable any network security protocols that may be blocking access. Make sure that the following ports are set to open on your firewall and router 80, 443, 843, 38202, 38203.  You can test the ports here http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

 

 Q: My device connected to the game but does not let me play

A:  Make sure JavaScript and cookies are enabled. Additionally, your browser must support web sockets, you can check your browser here to make sure it's compatible  https://www.websocket.org/echo.html

*Make sure to disable any ad/pop up blocking software

 


Q: My browser was working but now is not

A: Force quit and close your browser, then delete the cache/cookies/history and try joining again (DO NOT CLEAR COOKIES IF YOUR WERE DISCONNECTED IN GAME, ONLY TRY THIS SOLUTION BEFORE A GAME HAS BEGUN)
